Beata Wetli, piano
The pianist Beata Wetli was born in the vicinity of Zurich. It is the place where she grew up, and also where she lives and works today. Her main teachers are counted among the finest international pianists: Jürg von Vintschger (Vienna), Peter Feuchtwanger (London); further studies with Georges Athanasiadès, Hans Andreae (harpsichord); master courses in Switzerland and abroad. She obtained her concert diploma with distinction at the academy of music in Zurich and completed her studies at the Royal College of Music in London. An award winning performer, she took first place honours in the competition sponsored by the Kiwanis Clubs and was awarded the Landolt Prize, both in Switzerland, and she reached the final round of the international Pembaur contest. In Switzerland she received three top talent awards from the Migros-Göhner foundation (Zug/Zurich) and from the Argovian curatorship. She performs frequently as a soloist as well as in chamber music formations in Switzerland and abroad (Germany, France, England, Russia, Poland &endash; often in connection with radio or television recordings). She often plays in a duet together with Peter Leisegang, who had been the solo cellist of the Festival Strings of Lucerne for many years. She regularly works as a pedagogue in Zurich.
