Klemens Schnorr




Klemens Schnorr is a professor for organ at the conservatory of Freiburg, organist of the minster and a visiting professor of the Italian Academy for Organ of Pistoia. Born 1949 in Amorbach, Odenwald, he presented the baroque organ of the then-abbey church when he was still a pupil; as a concert consultant of the royal house Leiningen he is still closely connected to his homeland. After his studies in Munich (Organ-Master Class with Franz Lehrndorfer, M.A. in musicology with Rudolf Bockholdt) he won international organ contests in Avila and Bologna as well as the Munich ARD-Contest and worked untill his appointment to Freiburg as a church musician, professor and an organ expert in Würzburg and Munich. 2002/03 he was the foundation headmaster of the Academy for Catholic Church Music and Music Pedagogy in Regensburg.
Apart from being a professor and concert organist he has also worked as an arranger and editor and published works about organ music and organ playing.
