Christine Walser, alto




Trained as a pianist, Christine Walser continued her studies in singing in Cologne, at the Folkwanghochschule in Essen and also at institutions in New York; master courses with Erik Werba, Ernst Haefliger, Anna Reynolds and Julia Hamari. Since 1974 member of the Zurich Opera ensemble, in the following years growing concert activities in Germany and increasingly all over Europe with conductors as Ferdinand Leitner, Ralf Weikert, Gerd Albrecht, Horst Stein, Edmond de Stoutz and Helmuth Rilling. The main focus of her singin activity is a considerable repertory of songs, from Renaissance to Modernism, among them a number of first performances; regularly she is invited to perform in the USA, repeatedly she participates in radio and television productions.
