Bartek Niziol, violin




Bartek Niziol. Born in 1974 in Szczecin. He started to play the violin at the age of five. He graduated with honour from the Academy of Music in Poznan (class of Prof. Jadwiga Kaliszewska), than he studied in Lausanne under Pierre Amoyal. He has taken part in several master classes where he has worked with musicians as Zachar Bron, Mauricio Fuchs, Ruggiero Ricci and Michael Frischenschlager. He has won top prizes at many violin competitions, among others First Prize at the Adelaide International Competition (1991), the Wieniawski International Competition in Poznan (1991), the Pretoria International Competition (1991), the Eurovision Competition in Brussels (1992) and the M.Long-J.Thibaud Competition in Paris (1993).
Bartek Niziol has performed as soloist with many renowned orchestras: Tonhalle Zurich, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, English Chamber Orchestra, NDR Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia.
Bartek Niziol is founder of the Niziol Quartet. He gives regular recitals and sonata evenings on many prestigious stages (also appearing with Pinchas Zukermann and Elisabeth Leonskaja). He collaborates with the renowned film music composer Vladimir Cosma (performing his Concerto de Berlin)
Bartek Niziol has made numerous recordings for radio, television and music companies. They include Concerto in D minor and almost all the pieces for solo violin and for violin and piano by Henryk Wieniawski, as well as Mendelssohn`s Violin Concerto in D minor, Concerto in D major and Double Concerto by Brahms and Violin Concerto by Jan Astriab. The artist plays the Giuseppe Guarnerius del Gesù of 1727.
